Harry Potter minifigures from the first and second collectible series can form one collection while retaining their separate identities. The display cases for 71022 and 71028 have different proportions, so plan their relationship on the shelf before treating them as a matched pair.
Compare the complete cases first
| Series reference | Width | Depth | Height |
|---|---|---|---|
| 71022, first series | 47.1 cm | 13 cm | 12.3 cm |
| 71028, second series | 40.8 cm | 13 cm | 11.5 cm |
These are the case dimensions stated on the respective listings, not usable spaces for individual accessories. Equal depth does not establish a common internal layout. Match each series to its own case and compare the actual rear tiers in the gallery.

Choose how the two groups should meet
On a single shelf, the cases do not have to be centred on their shared midpoint. You can align their front base edges and let the wider first-series case carry more visual weight, or leave a little more space around the second series to give it an equal presence.
If the cases sit on different shelves, repeat the viewing height and the amount of empty space around each wherever the furniture allows. Do not stack one case on the other without a stated load-bearing design.
Keep character groupings within each series
Lay out the figures before transferring them. Related characters can sit near one another, but preserve a clear view of each head and handheld accessory. A wand pointed directly across a neighbouring face can interrupt a small scene more than its size suggests.
The 71028 listing describes sixteen characters arranged on tiered, studded positions. For both cases, compare your chosen poses with the available positions rather than assuming every custom grouping will clear the panels.

Use the background as an organising aid
A themed backdrop connects the figures visually. Allow some of it to remain visible between the characters; crowding every gap with spare parts makes the rows harder to read. If you mix figures between series, check whether the printed setting still supports the arrangement you want.
Our minifigure case guide explains viewing height, row clearance and opening access. Check the number on your series before selecting the 71022 case or the 71028 case. Minifigures and accessories are not included.
