LEGO X-Wing 75355 Display Guide: Flight or Attack Mode?

Choose the wing position before choosing the space around an X-Wing. Flight and attack modes change the silhouette you see and the clearance you need. The stand, plaque and figures then become part of the complete arrangement.

This guide covers LEGO® Ultimate Collector Series X-Wing Starfighter 75355. Begin with the display case listed for set 75355; a different X-Wing edition should not be assumed to use the same stand or enclosure.

Choose flight or attack mode

LEGO's official 75355 description confirms that a dial changes the wings between flight and attack modes. Try both using the model's instructions, then look from the place where you will normally view the finished display.

Attack mode makes the X-shaped outline more prominent. Flight mode presents a different, more compact-looking wing arrangement, but appearance alone does not establish the required case dimensions. Measure the selected pose and check it against the actual usable interior.

Record the complete wing envelope
Direction Include in the check
Width The furthest wingtip or projecting detail on each side.
Height The model on its intended support, including upper and lower wing positions.
Length The nose, rear of the model and any forward-projecting details in the chosen angle.

Include the support and plaque

LEGO supplies a buildable display stand with a data plaque and a place for Luke Skywalker. That describes the LEGO set's components. Check separately which supports, base elements and figure positions a display case includes or accommodates.

A third-party angled stand may create a different envelope from the original LEGO support. If you intend to use one, record its identity and send a photo of the model on it when checking fit. Do not assume that every 75355 case supports every display angle.

Place the plaque where it can be read from the main viewing position. If the nose or a wing hides it, adjust the composition within the limits of the approved support arrangement rather than improvising a new mounting point.

Use model dimensions as a reference

LEGO lists the model as over 27 cm high, 55 cm long and 44 cm wide. These are model measurements, not the exterior dimensions of a CubeBuff display. They do not replace measuring your precise stand and wing configuration.

Check the complete arrangement against the case's verified usable interior. Compare the finished exterior with the furniture and confirm the opening space needed above or around it. A large enough shelf footprint does not automatically provide the working area for placing a supported aircraft inside an enclosure.

Decide where wing changes will happen

If you want to change modes regularly, confirm whether you can reach the dial and whether the whole movement clears the case. A final pose fitting inside the enclosure does not mean the wings can travel between poses there.

When access inside is unsuitable, plan a clear surface where the model can be adjusted according to its instructions. Keep the route from display to work area short and free of nearby objects that could catch a wingtip.

Finish with the room view

From a front three-quarter angle, check that all four wings remain readable and that the nose does not visually merge with the backdrop. From the side, check whether the case edge or nearby furniture interrupts the profile.

Use the background comparison for the visual choice and the measurement worksheet for the placement. Confirm set 75355, stand arrangement, wing position, selected option and included components before ordering.
